The NAEA requirement includes 2 hours enrolled agent continuing education (EA CPE in ethics. In order to qualify for renewal of enrollment, the enrolled agent must certify that he or she has satisfied the enrolled agent continuing education (EA CPE) requirements. If your initial enrollment occurs during an enrollment cycle, you are required to complete 2 hours of qualifying enrolled agent continuing education (EA CPE) credits per month and 2 hours of ethics credits each year.  When your new enrollment cycle begins, you will be required to satisfy the full 72-hour enrolled agent continuing education (EA CPE) credit requirement.

The enrolled agent continuing education (EA EPE) course must be a course of learning in federal taxation and only in tax related matters.
